I haven't owned a video game system since I bought a Sega Genesis with my own money about 15 years ago. Since that time there has been one game that has always left me desiring a new video game system...and that game is Mario Kart. The Nintendo 64 version was the game of choice for myself and my buddies in college and I have many fond memories of people shocking da house, jumping walls and tracks (i.e. cheating), and everyone fighting over which track we were going to do next. I believe much of my great driving record is the result of the rigorous training that Mario Kart gave me in that I am prepared for anything I might encounter while driving: bananas on the road, getting struck by lighting and shrunk to a miniature size, or a giant boulder falling from the mountains (which actually happens occasionally in Colorado).
Up until this time I have withstood the urge to rejoin the world of video games as I am supposed to be an adult now and should not spend time on such childish things. Then, this past weekend I spent about 4 hours playing the new Mario Kart game for the Wii at our friends P.J. and Kersta's house. It is hands down the greatest video game ever made. It even comes with plastic steering wheels so it feels like you're driving.

All of this leads to the following question: should I use part of my economic stimulus check to stimulate the Japanese economy and purchase a Wii?

Noel played in Best Buy the other day and now wants it more than ever, too! What shall we ever do?

Simple. Buy one. We've all done enough selfish things in our lives that it is about time we did something for the good of the economy. Spending money is our solemn patriotic duty. Let's not let our country down.

Hey Bryant and Becky. Welcome to the blogging world! I found your site through Matt and Eli's blog. :) It's fun to reconnect in this way! Happy to hear that all is well in CO! Tulip Time is happening here as we speak...I'm sure you miss it. Tim was suppose to play in an alumni soccer game last weekend but they cancelled it. I'm sure you miss that more. :) Check out our blog if your interested: www.timandbrookekeeler.blogspot.com
